Matt Parry took centre stage as Formula Kart Stars officially crowned its 2009 champions at the Autosport International show in Birmingham in January, overhsadowed only by the star names drafted in to help with the presentation.

With reigning F1 world champion Jenson Button, double Le Mans 24 Hours winner Allan McNish and MSA chief executive Colin Hilton all on hand, the only karting championship endorsed by F1 ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone and alumni Lewis Hamilton pulled no punches when it came to rewarding its latest batch of champions.

Having claimed the Junior Rotax Max title at the first attempt, Matt was not only presented with his trophy, but also earned an invite to the Florida Winter Tour plus a session on Bamboo Engineering’s incredible race simulator at Silverstone.

Formula Palmer Audi’s Christian Vann also announced a special shoot-out prize for the ten eligible drivers from the KF2, KF3 and Junior Rotax classes who had either won a race or set fastest lap during the course of the 2009 season.
